Multiple Shootings in Pittsfield Send Four to Hospital

Police-ShootingPITTSFIELD (WGGB) – Police in Pittsfield are investigating two early morning shootings that have sent four people to the hospital.

According to the Pittsfield Police Department, the first shooting occurred in the area of Tyler and Brown Streets. Two victims of that shooting were transported to Berkshire Medical Center.

While police were investigating that shooting, they received calls for a second incident. This one happened in the area of The Common Park on First Street. Two victims were involved in this shooting as well. They were also transported to Berkshire Medical Center.

The conditions of all four victims is currently unknown. Police are investigating both shootings. Stick with ABC40 on air and online for the latest on this developing story.

    “This doesn’t happen there”…. Said by people in every town that has a mass shooting. No, this wasn’t a mass shooting, but to not understand two things is ignorance. First being that people by nature are violent, history proves this. Second is that it boils down to percentage of population. New York has more shooting incidences than Springfield, Springfield has more shooting incidences than SmallTownX. It’s simple math. Violence can happen anywhere anytime. Should you be paranoid of it, no. Should you be aware and at least somewhat cautious, absolutely.
