Strong Line of Storms Knocks Out Power to Nearly 1,000 Customers

REGION (WGGB) — The fast moving line of storms Monday afternoon has knocked out power to about 790 customers across the Pioneer Valley.

As of 7:00 p.m. , Western Mass. Electric is reporting about just under 475 customers without power.

in Hatfield 465 customers are currently without power.  Earlier this evening in Southwick, 106 customers were in the dark but their electricity was just restored.

Scattered outages are also reported for WMECo customers in Ashfield.

Meanwhile, National Grid has 507 outages reported in the Valley, with all of them in Hampshire County.

The company’s outage map reports that 502 customers in Belchertown and now 5 customers down from 248 earlier,  in Northampton are currently without power.

National Grid is estimating that those folks in both communities will be back online by 8:15 p.m.
