“The owner became suspicious of this guy because he was always volunteering to take out the trash,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney. “Well, his suspicions were correct because when they checked the trash, it was loaded with video games.”
Delaney adds, “He was actually stealing thousands of dollars worth of games, putting them in the trash, taking them out to the trash and when he’d get out of work, he’d go into the trash bin and take the games.”
Springfield Police say, around the same time last summer, Bodley learned his friends were going away on vacation and leaving their house unattended.
Delaney goes on to say, “He went over there, broke into their house and what did he steal? A flat screen TV, he stole video games and he stole some of the wife’s jewelry out of the house.”
Warrant apprehension officers have been looking for Bodley for close to a year now and during their digging, they learned he’s wanted in another Western Massachusetts town.
“East Longmeadow Police want him for five counts of breaking and entering, five counts of destruction of property, and breaking into two cars,” says Delaney. “So this is a guy we’ve got to get off the street.”
