SPOILER ALERT: Emotional Night for Local Hell’s Kitchen Contestant

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WGGB) — It was an emotional night full of surprises for Belchertown’s Mary Poehnelt on Hell’s Kitchen.

In the beginning of the episode, Chef Ramsay shocked the final five chefs by revealing their families, who had flown in to visit.

Previously, Chef Ramsay had told the contestants that only four of them would be earning the coveted black jackets, but he had a surprise up his sleeve regarding that too.

“As I look at you with your families,” he said, “I realize any one of you can win Hell’s Kitchen and that’s why all five of you are getting black jackets.  Well done. ”

“Ahhh!!! Chef Ramsay why do you do that” Mary exclaimed to the cameras.  “You take us up, and then down, and then back up again!  Like, I’m gonna explode right now!”

Then, with their emotions running wild, it was time for the chefs to show their stuff in the challenge.  The winner would earn more time with their family on a special afternoon outing.

This challenge was all about pressure cookers.  Mary was the only chef to have experience using one, and wowed the judges, becoming the only contestant to earn a perfect score of 15 and winning the challenge.

The episode was part one of two, so you’ll have to wait until next week to see how service goes and which chef will be going home.
