SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A driver’s alleged failure to stop for a red light lands her passenger behind bars.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says that around 3:00 Friday morning, officers on patrol saw a blue Honda Civic roll through a red light at Union and Maple Streets.
During the traffic stop, Delaney adds that officers could see that the passenger, 20-year-old Tiffany Evans of Albany, N.Y., was allegedly trying to hide a large amount of Heroin on her person.
However, Delaney notes that because she was just coming from work at an area strip club, Evans “did not have enough clothing on to conceal the illegal narcotic.”
Officers ordered Evans out of the car, at which time 47 bags of Heroin fell out, down to the pavement.
Evans was placed under arrest and charged with possession of Heroin with intent to distribute. She is set to be arraigned Friday in Springfield District Court.
The female driver was issued a ticket for the red light violation.
