Verizon Customers: Can You Hear Me Now?


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Some Verizon customers faced challenges with their service today in Western Massachusetts.

A technical problem made it impossible for many users to make or receive calls for much of Saturday.

We reached out to Verizon Wireless spokesperson Michael Murphy, who issued the following statement:

“Late this morning network engineers investigated reports of some mobile voice calls not processing in portions of Western Massachusetts and Vermont. A hardware issue was quickly identified, fixed and the voice issue was resolved by noontime. Text messaging, mobile Internet and data access was unaffected by this morning’s events.”
