Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity Celebrates New Home

AMHERST (WGGB) — The completion of a big project in Amherst meant a dream come true for one local family.

The Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity uses donations to help low-income families find suitable housing, and Sunday they did just that for Lesley Pinero and her family.

“Everybody is amazing. I mean they take time, they take donations and everything, just to help somebody that really wants to make their dream come true of owning a home,” Pinero said. “And it wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for them.”

Pinero actually helped crews put her new home together.

The group celebrated the completion of their house on Sunday, welcoming family, friends, neighbors and volunteers to join them.

The Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity has helped more htan 30 eligible families find new homes.
