SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — An overnight fire displaced 14 residents in a three-story apartment building in Springfield.
Fire crews responded to 511 Hancock Street around 1:20 Wednesday morning, to find the flames engulfing the back portion of the building.
The six-family building was evacuated, as crews fought the fire for several hours.
Springfield Fire estimated that the fire caused roughly $200,000 worth of damage, but no one was injured in the blaze.
The Red Cross is assisting the residents who were forced to leave their home. Police are still investigating the cause of this fire.
