ABC News: Aaron Hernandez Being Investigated for 2012 Double Murder
BOSTON (WGGB) — Reports are surfacing that former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is now being investigated in connection with an unsolved double murder in Boston.
Sources are telling ABC News that Hernandez is being looked for his possible involvement in the death of two men found shot and killed in Boston’s South End on July 15, 2012.
Boston Police say that on that date, officers responded to the area of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street around 2:00 a.m. for a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, police say that they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Two of those people, 29-year-old Daniel Jorge de Abreu and 28-year-old Safiro Teixeira Furtado, both of Dorchester, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The third person was taken with non-life threatening injuries to Tufts Medical Center.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
ABC News has learned that the 2012 shooting happened hours after Hernandez was allegedly seen in an altercation at a nightclub.
Hernandez is due back in court Thursday afternoon for a bail hearing, related to his arrest for his alleged involvement in the murder of semi-pro football player 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.
