Hampden County DA Mark Mastroianni Applies for Federal Judgeship

MastroianniSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Hampden County District Attorney, Mark Mastroianni has applied for a Federal Judgeship position in Springfield.

Mastroianni confirmed with us Friday evening that he has in fact put his application in for the job, but it’s not indicative at all of any unhappiness he has with his current position.

He told us he enjoys working with his staff and bringing justice to crimes in western Mass and that he is dedicated more than ever to his role as District Attorney. He applied for the position because it was such a great opportunity and he didn’t want to pass it up.

Mastroainni has been the DA for Hampden County for more than two years now. He was elected in 2010 beating out former state Senator, Stephen Buoniconti.
