West Nile Found in Mass. Mosquito

mosquito(WGGB) — West Nile Virus has been detected in a mosquito in Massachusetts for the first time this year.

According to the state’s Department of Public Health, the virus was found in a mosquito sample collected on Tuesday in the town of Whitman, which is about 25 miles south of Boston.

The virus is usually transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito.
