(WGGB) — Some motorists traveling down Interstate 91 in Connecticut captured video of the tornado hitting the state Monday afternoon.
As the severe storm cell was moving through Windsor Locks and East Windsor, debris could be seen everywhere, including netting from tobacco barns flying through the air and landing along the side of I-91.
Portions of Hartford and Tolland Counties were under a tornado watch for a portion of Monday afternoon.
There was heavy damage reported in Windsor Locks and East Windsor. However, there is no confirmation yet of a tornado touching down in Connecticut.
The National Weather Service confirmed the July 1, 2013 Tornado after arriving on-scene and surveying and assessing the damage.
