Natl. Weather Service: Tornado Struck Enfield on Monday

Enfield - from Kristina Tassistro

ENFIELD, Conn. (WGGB) — The National Weather Service says that a strong line of storms on Monday produced a tornado in Enfield.

The EF-O twister touched down around 1:45 p.m., traveled about three-quarters of a mile, and had a maximum wind speed of 65 miles per hour.

An assessment from the National Weather Service showed scattered tree damage began on Glen Arden Lane, then crossed Hazard Avenue, and continued northeast to Heron Road.

The tornado eventually ended around Taylor Road.

The Enfield tornado makes the second twister to occur in Hartford County Monday. An EF-1 tornado touched down in Windsor Locks and ended in East Granby, Conn. Monday afternoon.
