State Police Investigate Deadly Accident in Leverett

LEVERETT, Mass. (WGGB) — A Leverett man is dead following a single-car crash early Wednesday morning.

State Police say that around 1:45 a.m., they received a 911 call from someone reporting that a car has struck a tree near 54 North Leverett Road in Leverett.

The caller reported that they initially couldn’t see the car, but after looking for a few minutes, found it, rolled over in a ditch.

Troopers, along with members of the Leverett and Amherst Fire Department, arrived and found the car on its roof, with one person inside.

The driver, identified by State Police at 21-year-old Jaryd Ryan Buzzell of Leverett, was pronounced dead at the scene.

North Leverett Road was closed for about four hours while the investigation was ongoing. That road has since reopened.

The accident remains under investigation.
