Motorcycle CrashBRIMFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — One man was seriously injured, another arrested, in a motorcycle accident in Brimfield Thursday afternoon.

Brimfield Police Officer Peter Levesque says it happened just before 3 p.m. on Sturbridge Road, also known as Route 20.

53-year-old Eugene Taglieri of Brimfield was riding his motorcycle westbound, when he was hit by a car turning left into the County Line gas station.

Taglieri suffered serious injuries to his leg and had to be taken by Life Flight to Umass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.  He is expected to survive.

The driver of the car, 53-year-old John Kennedy of Ludlow, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation, failure to yield to an oncoming vehicle, and for having an open container.

One westbound lane of the road was shutdown for about an hour while police investigated.
