HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — Police have released the name of the woman who died after an accident Wednesday in Holyoke.

According to Lt. Jim Albert she is 65 year-old, Suzanne Robbins from Hinsdale.  Two female teens were also injured in the accident. One was 17 years-old and the other was 15-years-old.

“My understanding is that they are (Robbins) granddaughters,” says Lt. Albert.

Both were transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield following the accident with serious injuries.  No update on their condition was immediately available.

Just after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, a tractor trailer and a small Chevrolet sedan collided on Cherry Street, not far from I-91 and the Soldiers’ Home.

The road was closed while crews worked to clear the scene leaving traffic to become congested in that area.

The driver and passenger of the tractor trailer, which is owned by The Performance Corporation, remained at the scene.

The Holyoke Police and State Police accident reconstruction team are currently investigating what happened.

No citations have yet been issued.
