Rescue Crews Search for 5-Year-Old in Conn. River


SOUTH HADLEY, Mass (WGGB) – South Hadley Fire crews are on the Connecticut River right now searching for a missing 5-year-old girl.

Both the Holyoke Fire Department and State Police are assisting in the search, which includes both boats and a helicopter.

Around 9:30 Saturday night, State Police in Northampton received a call from South Hadley Police requesting help in locating the young girl.

She is believed to have fallen into the Connecticut River from a home on Cove Island Road in South Hadley.

ABC40 has a crew on the scene and will have more information for you online and on ABC40 news at 7am Sunday.

    do NOT judge this family. it was an accident, a tragic accident. those who judge will be judged by the all mighty on your day of recconing.
    he will ask you why you judged when you had no right to do so.
    you werent there. you dont know what happend, so keep your petty judgments to yourself.

    Nobody is judging, I prayed that someone had taken her inside and she would be found safe. I see now that is not what happened…praying for the family to make it through this.
