Gun Industry Group Sues Conn. Over Gun Law

Associated Press

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut’s new gun law is being challenged again in court, with a national industry group claiming the legislation was passed illegally without proper public input or adequate review by state legislators.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation Inc. filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court against Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and other top state officials. The organization wants a judge to strike down the law as invalid.

The General Assembly passed emergency legislation in April expanding Connecticut’s assault weapons ban and background check requirements in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

But foundation senior vice president and general counsel Lawrence Keane says there was no emergency or statement of facts given that would allow the bill to bypass the traditional public hearing process.

The Attorney General’s Office has not been served and declined to comment.

It’s funny how the focus is on so-called “assault weapons” but the majority of gun crimes are committed by criminals with STOLEN guns, typically a revolver or pistol. Plus 2/3 of gun deaths are suicides. I used to live near the “Watershops” section of Springfield (where Allen St. and Walnut St. meet, and I am disgusted with how easily a punk could get an illegal handgun. And no one rats on them! Save your streets and start snitching. Your life will depend on it one day. But if you happy to live in a
sub-par, slob infested hood, and take no action, it’s your fault.

First I’m pro right to own own guns and the laws to take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens is appalling. But the fact that these conspiracy theorists believe the deaths of 20 school children was faked by the government and they were able to get and entire town and multiple law enforcement agencies and fire amd medical services etc to go along with the conspiracy is well to put it nicely a little far fetched.
