LINCOLN, Neb. (WGGB) — Another New England Patriot faces legal trouble, as cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was arrested on a DUI charge Thursday morning, according to Omaha.com.
Dennard was already facing jail time for assaulting a police officer in Lincoln, Nebraska in February. Thursday, Lincoln police said the 24-year-old was arrested on suspicion of DUI, refusing a chemical test and a driving infraction.
The felony charges against him came when he struck an officer after he was ordered to leave a bar after a fight, according to our affiliate WCVB Boston.
Controversy followed Dennard into the league, after a fight in his final game playing for the University of Nebraska. He eventually fell to the seventh round of the draft, being selected at No. 224 by the New England Patriots.
On November 16, 2012, Dennard was fined $7,875 for a late hit against the Buffalo Bills.
