Holyoke Runners “Hunting” For a Cure
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB)– Runners and walkers gathered at the Holyoke Lodge of Elks for a 5K to benefit the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. The event started at 11 a.m. and included a 3.1 mile course around the Ashley Reservoir.
Jennifer Gilburg organized the race in honor of her dad who passed away from the disease and her brother who is currently living with it.
“This was a way to come out, raise awareness, raise money and then just do something positive for something that is so devastating for so many people.”
Hamel’s Catering and Meeting House provided the food and there was live music from the Franny-O Show, raffles and more.
