SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – New insight today into how the jury came to the conclusion of “Not Guilty” in the George Zimmerman trial.

Clouded in a black shadow so we couldn’t see her face, Juror B37 spoke to CNN’s Anderson Cooper tonight.

He asked her if the jury was confused by the instructions they were given and if that had anything to do with their verdict.

She responded, “That was our problem. It was just so confusing what went with what and what we could apply to what. Because there was a couple of them in there that wanted to find him guilty of something. And after hours and hours and hours of deliberating over the law and reading it over and over and over again we decided there’s just no other place to go.”

“Because of the two options you had?” asks Cooper, “Second Degree Murder and Manslaughter you felt neither applied?”

“Right. Because of the heat of the moment and the Stand Your Ground. He had a right to defend himself. If he felt his life was gonna be taken away from him or he was gonna have bodily harm. He had a right. So even though it was he who got out of the car followed Trayvon Martin, that didn’t matter. What mattered was those final moments, seconds, minutes when there was an altercation and all that mattered in your mind was that George Zimmerman felt his life was in danger. That’s how we read the law. That’s how we got to the point of everybody being not guilty,” Juror B37 responds.

The woman did get emotional towards the end of the interview saying she feels bad for both Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. But she did say she believes Zimmerman’s account of that night and believes his heart was in the right place.

So she is basically saying you can stalk a total stranger ,accuse him or her of being something or someone that has done something and if he or she starts kicking your ass to his or her defense, you can just pull out your gun and shoot to kill ? Because all that matters is the ” final moments , second, minutes “not the premeditated thought of following someone you were told not to Pursue

What is ridiculous is the mindset of many of those who made such awful comments. Even if you disagree it is not necessary to bash others opinions and be so heartless and disrespectful. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. And on another note: I pray such tragedy doesn’t happen to you or your family…

Bottom line is not one of us was there the night this happened. Its truly a tragic outcome for all involved. But lets remember they BOTH made poor choices and BOTH suffered the consequences. Instead of hating, ranting, blaming or judging lets use that energy to teach our children, friends, family, neighbors how to prevent this from happening again. Yea this situation sucks but something positive can come from it if everyone would stop the negative bs.
