Four Men Arrested in Holyoke on Multiple Gun and Drug Charges
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — Four men have been arrested on multiple gun and drug charges after police say they found them with loaded weapons behind a building on Mosher Street in Holyoke.
25-year-0ld, Raymond Guzman of Springfield, 18-year-old, Julio Rosado-Vega of Holyoke, 27-year-0ld, Kevin Echevarria of Holyoke and 44-year-old, Freddie Rivera of Holyoke, all face multiple charges including Poss. or Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Firearm Use in a Felony, and Possession of Heroin and Cocaine.
In a press release sent to ABC40 Monday evening, Holyoke Police Lieutenant Jim Albert says they received a call just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday and responded to the area of North Bridge Street and Mosher Street in the Flats section of the city, for a report of individuals in that area with “guns.”
When officers arrived they saw several people in the rear of 89/91 Mosher Street. The individuals then ran from the scene, but Lt. Albert says they were able to arrest them.
After the 4 were placed into custody, police allege they found numerous rounds of ammunition and 5 loaded guns including a 7.62 Caliber Semi-Auto Assault Rifle, a .45 Caliber Smith &Wesson Revolver, and three Semi-Auto pistols.
Lt. Albert reports they also discovered multiple bags of Heroin, Cocaine and Marijuana.
According to police the men were set to be arraigned Monday.
The Holyoke Police and Fire Departments, along with K-9 units, the FBI, and the State Police all took part in making the arrests.
