Patriots Coaches Return to Work
FOXBORO (WGGB) — The slow march to Week 1 has begun, as Patriots coaches have returned to work at Gillette Stadium.
Coaches will take this time to finalize the practice schedules, strategy plans and any personnel battles they may anticipate before practices actually begin.
Bill Belichik welcomes two new additions to his staff, including offensive assistant Brian Daboll and coaching assistant Jerry Shuplinski. The Pats did not lose any coaching staff members from last year’s 12-4 season, which earned them an AFC East division title.
Patriots rookies will report on Sunday, July 21. The rest of the roster is due back by Thursday, July 25, with the first public practice the following day at 9 a.m.
New England’s first preseason game is on August 9 in Philadelphia against the Eagles. They will also face the Buccaneers, Lions and Giants in their four preseason match-ups.
It’s all in preparation for the Pats’ Week 1 battle with the division-rival Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium on September 8.
