LUDLOW, Mass. (WGGB) — The heat wave is slowing us all down, but when you’re ready to complain, just think of those who work in the roofing business.
On Thursday, workers from Adam Quenneville Roofing were busy putting a roof on a home on Miller Street in Ludlow.
They drank plenty of water to stay hydrated. Also, they began their day early to beat the late afternoon heat.
“The best thing to do is to get here early, 5:30 in the morning leave the house, get here at 6:00 a.m., start stripping the roof to get done by 7:30 and start bringing up the supplies by 7:30 to 8:00 o’clock in the morning, get everything done up there before the heat wave starts coming in and get things done,” says Jonathan Orellana of Adam Quenneville Roofing.
While it may be 95 degrees on the ground, the temperature on the roof could hit 110 degrees as the black shingles attract the heat.
