Springfield Police Seek Suspects in Theft of Roofing Materials

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are looking for the public’s help in finding the suspects accused of stealing a large amount of roofing materials from a local store.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says that sometime between 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 and 8:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, the suspects broke into the back of the Grossman’s Bargain Outlet on Boston Road, then used a two-by-four to push up the security cameras in the area.

Once inside, the suspects allegedly stole a large quantity of roofing materials, including a bundle of shingles, as well as rolls of felt paper and ice/water paper.

Investigators hope that members of the public may recognize something from surveillance pictures taken at another part of the store.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Springfield Police Detective Bureau at (413) 787-6355.
