Motorcycle Crash in Ludlow Sends One to the Hospital

Car-Accident-Motorcycle2LUDLOW, Mass. (WGGB)– Police say a Ludlow man around 60 years of age on a motorcycle went off the road hitting a telephone pole and a mailbox Friday evening.

Police received the call  just before 7:00 p.m. for a single motor vehicle accident on West Street in Ludlow.

According to Sergeant Brennan of the Ludlow Police Department, the man has serious injuries after he swerved off the road and hit a telephone pole and mailbox then ended up back in the road.

“He has many fractures, a suspected head injury, and some internal injuries as well,” said Sgt. Brennan.

Police say the man was not far from his home when he crashed on West Street which was closed briefly but is now back open .

The unidentified motorcyclist has been transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

The Ludlow Police Department continues to investigate the accident, no word yet on what caused the man to crash.
