90+ Streak Set to Come to an End at Seven!

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) It has been quite a week! The heat and humidity has been endless and brutal. We’ve had seven straight days with temperatures reaching over 90.

It started last Sunday when we reached 91 and it will likely end today with an unofficial high of 92. We didn’t break any daily high records throughout the stretch but the combination of heat and humidity made it feel like it was between 100-110 degrees for most of this past week.

Sunday was 91, Monday 92, Tuesday 94, Wednesday 94, Thursday 96, Friday 97 and today 92. Enough is enough! Finally our 90 plus degree stretch will be coming to an end. A cold front will move through tonight knocking high temperatures into the 80’s tomorrow and for most of this upcoming week. More importantly this front will dry us. Dew points tomorrow will be down into the 50’s instead of the 70’s. Humidity levels will creep back up for the middle of the week but it will not be nearly as oppressive as it has been.
