Police Investigate Apparent Drowning of 2-Year-Old in Pittsfield

Pool Water

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are investigating the apparent drowning of a young girl over the weekend in Pittsfield.

Fred Lantz, spokesperson for Berkshire County District Attorney David Capeless, says that around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, emergency crews were called to a home on Victor Street in Pittsfield.

Two-year-old Raquel Paris had been found under the water in the family pool, Lantz adds.

Paramedics rushed Paris to Berkshire Medical Center, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine Paris’ cause of death.

Everyone is so quick to post judgement. I have known this family since I was a small child and they are completely devastated. It is incredibly tragic. And your horrible comments are nothing as to what the child’s mother is putting herself through. The family are good people and Roxy was loved by many. This is a tragic accident and you all should be ashamed of yourselves. Your not advocating for her by tearing her family to shreds. Any one can suffer a tragedy. This child’s mother, father, brother, grandparents and extended family will never be the same. Shame on all of you hateful people for being in-compassionate and judgmental. Enjoy living in your glass houses I hope you never have to carry the burden that she will carry for the rest of her life. Rest in paradise Roxy <3 And to the family your are loved and supported by those that know you all-ECL

WOW. You all are insanely harsh and judgmental. Please stop. I am friends with this little girl’s grandmother and I know that the entire family is heartbroken. Your judgmental attitudes are helping no one. I can’t imagine that they’re helping you either. Please let up and have some compassion for the unbelievable suffering this family is enduring

Ugh not another one! Another senseless remark made out of ignorance, by a self proclaimed perfect person/parent. WTF is wrong with people that think their opinions matter? Hindsight might show you that you have no idea what their devastation consists of. The Angle’s name was Roxy and her parents loved her immensely as did many others.
