Car Crashes in Amherst

Car-Accident3AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB) — Amherst Fire Chief Tim Nelson says a car has crashed in the area of Station Road.

Our crew on scene says a male drove his Subaru off the road and into a brook that’s about 18 inches deep.

Fire crews had to extricate the driver, but our crew says the victim was awake and talking when he was taken to the hospital.  There’s no word on the extent of his injuries.

A number of tow trucks were able to pull the car out of the brook and through the woods.  Our crew says the vehicle was heavily damaged.

There’s no word on what caused the crash, but the road is closed off right now as crews work to clear the scene.
