Violation Hearing for Tully O’Reilly’s Pub Continued to SeptemberNORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB) — After a License Commission meeting in Northampton Wednesday night a violation hearing for Tully O’Reilly’s Pub remains undecided.
The Northampton License Commission chose to continue the hearing on September 4 to decide whether or not there is a pattern of disturbance at the bar.
This hearing stems from a June 16 fight outside the bar which tied up most of Northampton’s police force that night.
It’s the discrepancy in the police department’s account of that pattern of behavior at the bar, and the bar management’s perspective that has caused the hearing to be delayed until September.
“The police department said this was a trouble spot for them, that they frequently had to have more officers than they could spare to police the vicinity of the establishment. We want to see if that’s in fact the case, give the licensee a chance to respond to those types of assertions,” says Commissioner William Rosen.
At the meeting tonight he ruled previous proven violations will be taken into consideration at the next hearing.
