Man Shot, Stabbed Overnight in Springfield

shootingSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Springfield Police Detectives are investigating the city’s fourth shooting in as many days.

The Spot Shotter alerted police to an early Sunday morning shooting at 152 Main Street.

The 28-year-old male victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center with three gunshot wounds; two in his abdomen, and one in his arm. Once at Baystate, it was also discovered that he had several stab wounds to his upper back. He was sent to the OR where is in stable condition after surgery.

Springfield Police were unable to offer any further information regarding the shooting, except to say that it was not connected to a car accident that happened about the same time. The victim is not cooperating with police.
