BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WGGB) — A two vehicle crash in Belchertown closed down part of a town road Tuesday while police investigated what happened.
The crash, which involved a Honda Pilot and a Jeep Wrangler, occurred late in the afternoon near the intersection of Chauncey Walker Street (Route 21) and Turkey Hill Road.
According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, each operator was transported from the scene for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries, and there were no passengers in either vehicle.
The impact of the collision caused debris to be strewn all over the roadway and police closed down that area to traffic, establishing a detour while they worked.
The road was opened back up to traffic at 7:45 p.m.
At this time the cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, as well as the Belchertown Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit attached to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
