Wanted: Thomas Delaney

Crime Files - delaney thomasSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Custody battles can get ugly. Police say a recent squabble between a Springfield man and his ex turned violent, and now the baby’s father is nowhere to be found.

Thomas Delaney and his ex-girlfriend have a 1-year-old child and a complicated relationship.

Last month, the police were called to Delaney’s home to take the child and give it back to his girlfriend, and apparently, Delaney didn’t take too kindly to that.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says, “On Friday, June 14, the female, the victim was walking through the parking lot of C-Town Plaza with one of her girlfriends and pushing the 1-year-old in the stroller. At this time, Delaney screeched into the parking lot of the C-Town Plaza in a green Jeep Cherokee, tried to run over the three, including the little child. They jumped out of the way. The car then circled around back. He got out of the car. He ran fist clenched at his girlfriend.”

The woman’s friend jumped in the way and intercepted Thomas Delaney’s blow, falling to the ground.

Delaney then directed his attention back to his girlfriend, punching her as well.

“He took his foot and he kicked the baby stroller over, with the baby still inside. Thank God she wasn’t hurt because she was restrained inside the baby stroller,” adds Sgt. Delaney.

Delaney then sped out of the parking lot toward Kenyon Street

“A 911 dispatch came in for Kenyon SAtreet, and on Kenyon Street, he stopped at his girlfriend’s house and smashed all the windows in her car. This creep needs to be arrested,” Sgt. Delaney explains.

If you see Thomas Delaney, call 911 or you can send police an anonymous tip. Just text it to “CRIMES” or 274637 and in the message type “SOLVE” and your tip.
