Players Hit the Ice for Memorial Hockey Tournament

WESTFIELD (WGGB) — Hockey usually isn’t played in the summer months but there are exceptions.

The third annual Kevin Major Memorial Hockey Tournament got off to a great start today with a record of twenty six teams taking part.

The  “Kevs” Foundation helps kids under 19 take part in youth sports programs.

It also provides free heart screenings and donates medical equipment to the community in memory of Kevin Major who passed away from sudden cardiac arrest in 2011.

The tournament will continue next weekend with a silent auction and a hockey memorabilia raffle.
