Rep. Don Humason Announces Run for Knapik’s Senate Seat

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — With the news that State Sen. Michael Knapik is resigning later this week, candidates are now starting to line up to fill that soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat.

Monday afternoon, State Rep. Don Humason of Westfield announced his to run for Knapik’s seat.

“I intend to offer the voters of our district my decade of experience in the House and my excellent voting record, accessibility, integrity, and accountability. I look forward to campaigning in every town and city and meeting the citizens of the district,” Humason says in a statement.

It was announced Monday that Knapik, who has been in the state legislature since 1991, would leave officer Friday to become the Executive Director of University Advancement at Westfield State University.

Humason has been a state representative serving the 4th Hampden District since 2002.
