Holyoke Students Honored with Scholarship

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) —  Some students from Holyoke were honored with Comcast Scholarships on Thursday.

Mayor Alex Morse and Comcast presented the awards to the Holyoke High graduates at City Hall.

The honorees wrote winning essays on topics like what their priorities as mayor would be and what makes a good leader.

“I feel very honored to receive this scholarship. I know it’s very competitive. You know, people had to write very important essays.and all of these people are my colleagues from Holyoke High School. They are all very intelligent. Their responses must have been great,” said scholarship recipient Jonathon Yee.

Fellow recipient Chloe Mann agreed.

“It was a great honor to get this scholarship. I was really proud,” Mann said.

Mann said she will be going to Northeastern University, and Yee is going to Springfield College.

Both are studying to become physicians’ assistants.
