Ludlow Police Lieutenant Arrested for Drug Possession, Stealing from Evidence Room

LUDLOW, Mass. (WGGB) — A Ludlow Police Department Lieutenant has been arrested for allegedly stealing from an evidence room and possession of cocaine.

Mass. Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office says that 49-year-old Lt. Thomas Foye was arrested without incident at police headquarters Thursday morning after investigators allege that he accessed the evidence locker without authorization.

Upon his arrest, the Attorney General’s office notes that Foye was in possession of what appeared to be cocaine.

Foye is charged with theft of drugs from a depository and possession of a Class B substance.

At his arraignment Thursday afternoon in Palmer District Court, a not guilty plea was entered and Foye was ordered to turn in his department issued service weapon and any FID cards he may have.

Foye was released on his personal recognizance and is due back in court in October.

The Attorney General’s office says that the investigation remains ongoing.
