CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) — It was a perfect day for a lemonade stand and that’s exactly how these kids spent their Saturday – selling lemonade to honor their grandma Barbara Beaulieu.
Barbara was a teacher for 20 years… and when she retired she volunteered at Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen – something she dearly loved.
So her grandkids decided to help out – selling lemonade in front of their home in Chicopee for 50-cents a cup.
They plan on donating all the money to grandma Barbara’s favorite soup kitchen.
“When we talked about doing a lemonade stand, we talked about donating it to the soup kitchen, and they just ran with it, they made posters, they made signs and they’re really very excited,” said Pamela Nadeau, whose children hosted the stand.
Even Chicopee Mayor Mike Bissonnette stopped by to show his support.
The kids will be back out tomorrow selling lemonade to benefit Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen.
You can get yourself a cold glass of lemonade at 257 Grover Street in Chicopee from 8 to noon.
