Disabled Veterans Get to Take Part in Sports Event
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB)– Disabled veterans are participating in a 3-day sports event hosted by the Center for Human Development and Ability PLUS.
Both organizations host adaptive sports for disabled individuals and are putting together the “Soldiers for Soldiers” activity this weekend.

CHD Disability Resources is open to all individuals with physical or visual disabilities. Through a number of activities, from adaptive sports and recreational outings to social gatherings and educational events, they seek to enhance the self-confidence, interactive skills, and physical abilities of program participants regardless of their abilities.
AbilityPLUS serves a diverse population of individuals, from people with severe physical disabilities to people with autism, across the spectrum. With the help of partner programs and hundreds of volunteers, they have provided thousands of adaptive sports lessons for people with disabilities.
