SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — Hundreds of motorcycle riders took part in the ‘Ride Like An Animal’ event today in Springfield.
The event raised money for the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center.
The bikers took off this morning at 10 from the T. J. O’Connor Center on Cottage Street and made their way along a 65 mile poker run through Western Mass.
They finished it out this afternoon in Chicopee at the Moose Club.
“It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year. It’s a ride like and animal poker run and we’ve invited over 200 bikers, actually over 250 bikers have turned out right now,” said Pam Peebles, the Director of the Thomas J. O’Connor Center
Every year, the center takes in about 4,000 injured, abused, and abandoned animals for Chicopee, Holyoke and Springfield.
