Ludlow Police Lt. Thomas Foye Placed on Paid Leave

LUDLOW, Mass (WGGB) – The Ludlow Board of Selectmen met behind ludlowclosed-door for an executive session before their public meeting tonight.

On the agenda – deciding the employment status of Lt. Thomas Foye.

“The board of selectmen voted to place Lt. Thomas Foye on administrative with pay while the alleged misconduct is further investigated and evaluated by the Attorney General’s Office and the Board of Selectmen,” said Selectmen Chairman, William Rooney. “Since this is executive session matter, the board will not be making any further statements at this time, thank you.”

Last week, Lt. Foye was arrested for the alleged theft of drugs from a police evidence locker.

State Police say they also found a small plastic baggy in his pocket that contained  an off-white substance that tested positive for cocaine.

Foye was immediately placed on leave and Tuesday night the Board of Selectman, after meeting with its labor lawyer, confirmed his employment status as placed on paid administrative leave.

The case has since been turned over to the Attorney General’s Office.

Foye’s next scheduled appearance in court is October 1st for a pretrial conference.
