WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Students at Westfield High School are making sure that needy students across the city will have the essentials they need when school starts.
The Key Club at Westfield High School has been holding fundraisers to buy backpacks and other items for school.
Those backpacks are now being distributed through the Salvation Army in Westfield.
“We bought 200 backpacks, and we stuffed them all with school supplies, which vary for different ages – elementary, middle and high school, and we’re distribuiting it to any kids in need who can’t afford it themselves,” says club president Leah Rucki.
It is tradition for Westfield High’s Key Club to provide these backpacks for needy students.
