Holyoke Health Center Opens Breastfeeding Resource Center

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — One local health center opened up its breastfeeding resource center Tuesday.

Located at the Holyoke Health Center on Maple Street, the center offers drop-in breastfeeding support groups, individual consultations, and even breast pumps.

All services are free and open to the public.

“We have a bilingual, Spanish speaking peer counselor, so that women who speak Spanish can come and have someone speak to them in their native language. I, myself, am a lactation consultant, so I help with breastfeeding problems, so there’s a clinic and a support group that we offer,” says Jacqueline Jones of Springfield.

The center is open twice a week, Tuesdays from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
