Wanted: Emmanqual Mcferren

CRIME FILES mcferren, emmanqual 8-29SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — After serving a 3-and-a-half year sentence in jail, Springfield Police say 29-year-old Emmanqual Mcferren eventually decided to settle down in Springfield, but he didn’t show up on their radar until a few weeks ago on Monday, August 5th.

“Police were dispatched to the Mercy Emergency Room for a report of an assault and when they got there, they saw a 24-year-old female victim in the emergency room,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney. “She had an ice pack to her mouth, she could barely talk because her jaw was broken in two places.”

The victim told officers the trouble started a few hours earlier, when she got into a verbal altercation with her estranged boyfriend Mcferren.

“He wanted to live in her apartment,” says Delaney. “She wouldn’t allow it because she just got beat up by him three weeks prior.”

Delaney adds, “As a result of the answer that he got — he didn’t like it — he punched her in the mouth, causing her jaw to be broken in two places.”

Springfield’s Special Victim’s Unit has taken over the case. After a little digging, they learned Mcferren has a pretty lengthy record.

“He’s wanted on four other occasions right now,” says Delaney. “He’s got warrants out of Dedham District Court, Wrentham District Court — all for aggravated assault and battery.”

Police believe Mcferren is still somewhere in Western Mass.
