Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) — Springfield police have arrested a city man they saw has been stalking a 16-year old girl.

53-year old John Ecker was arrested last night in the city’s Indian Orchard section.

The teens mother told police Ecker had left the girl notes and insisted they go out on a date — even asking for her to marry him.

Police say in one instance, he committed a lewd act outside the teens window.

Ecker will be arraigned later today in Springfield District Court.

An arrest unrelated to the stalking case was also made at Ecker’s Indian Orchard apartment.

Two police officers who were out on patrol noticed that an air conditioner was removed from a side window at the home.

Police found David Concepcion removing a flat screen TV and computer from the rear of the dwelling.

The 18-year old was arrested.
