Child Taken to Hospital After Being Sideswiped by Car

Car-AccidentSPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — One child is being treated for minor injuries in the hospital, after being sideswiped by a car Saturday in Springfield.

Police say a 5-year-old child was riding on a scooter when he or she ran into the side of a passing car. Officers say there was something obstructing the driver’s view, not allowing to see the child.

The child was taken to Baystate Medical Center with minor injuries to the arm and face.

The Springfield Traffic Bureau is investigating the incident.
