Protesters Plan Rally Against Syria Strike

Mass-Big DigBOSTON (AP) — Protesters are planning to rally in Boston to oppose any U.S. or NATO military action in Syria.

The rally is scheduled to begin today at 1 p.m. at Park Street Station on the Boston Common. At 3 p.m., the protesters say they plan to march from Park Street to Faneuil Hall.

Protesters say they oppose any act of war which they say won’t help the people of Syria and could escalate the ongoing violence there.

President Barack Obama said on Friday that he’s weighing what he called a “limited and narrow” action against Syria.

The administration has accused President Bashar Assad’s government of launching a chemical weapons attack that killed at least 1,429 people, including more than 400 children.

Obama has also said there will be no use of U.S. ground troops.
