HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — Hundreds turned out Saturday in the Paper City for the 5th annual Great Holyoke Block Party.
Citizens for the Revitalization and Urban Success of Holyoke – or C.R.U.S.H.- hosted the event.
They started it after seeing the need for fun, free, family friendly activities downtown to help promote Holyoke businesses and organizations.
“As you can see we have tons of people here for the block party. We have community organizations, residents coming downtown, music , food, local businesses. Just a great event to stimulate civic pride and to get people coming downtown again and so as mayor I love to see this type of activity in the city of Holyoke,” said Mayor Alex Morse.
And best of all… Saturday’s event was free and open to the public.
