Road Work Could Cause Delays Along Plumtree Road

Construction2

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — City officials say that road construction and paving work along a portion of Plumtree Road may cause of delays for motorists over the next few weeks.

Starting Thursday, milling work will occur on Plumtree between Bradley Road and Wilbraham Road. That work will last about three days and should be done by Monday.

Following the milling work, crews will be performing utility and drainage work, which is slated to last about three to four weeks.

James Leydon, Mayor Domenic Sarno’s communications director, says that the drainage work may require road closures and once those dates are determined, the city will work to notify residents.

Work is scheduled to occur between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 pm. Monday through Friday.

Final paving is scheduled for mid-October.

Motorists are being advised to seek alternate routes when temporary road closures may be in place.
