A Cool Morning but No Record Cold

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Temperatures fell into the upper 30’s and lower 40’s this morning. It was the coolest morning of the season thus far. However we did reach a record low for today’s date, September 6th.  At Westover, where the official temperatures are kept, the mercury fell to 39 degrees, falling one degree shy of the current record of 38. Frost advisories were posted for Franklin County, parts of Hampshire County and northern Berkshire County for early this morning but in reality it looks as though temps stayed safely above the freezing mark.
